1 out of 5 stars Biased   June 23, 2006

What most people don't understand is that without the catholic church there would be no christianity. The catholic religion has the deepest roots of christianity.. protestant and other "non denominational" churches are just offshoots from RCC and Eatern Orthodoxy. Catholics put together the bible(constantine and the counsels) and went through painstakingly accounts of what was right and what was wrong. And through the holy spirit of the people through the church the bible was finally born. First james, and then peter was the first pope. And christ said he would build his rock upon peter. Christ also said that he would not bring peace upon the EARTH, BUT A SWORD. Which explains the wars in the catholic church. Remember jesus wanted to bring peace with us between US AND GOD, not US AND THE EARTH. And by persecution christians were killed by the romans during when pagan religions were promemnant in rome(Era of Nero).. the persecution was one of the worst persecutions in history, but somehow through contantine christianity made it and took over rome, which is absolutly amazing, a small persecuted "cult" finally taking over one of the most strongest nations in the world. That is in my eyes a act of god, and shows us gods strength of the catholic church.

The point is that the catholic church will ALWAYS be here, from the begining to the end. No other protestant denominations have survived as long as the catholic church. The common protestant theory is that RCC believe they can 'buy' their way into heaven through their good "works". This is not true at all. Yet protestants fail to read the verse "Faith without works IS DEAD" James 2:20...They believe they can just immediatly say "i believe" and they'll go to heaven(the niciolations thinked this way, and god said in revelation that he hated them) as though jesus is "fire insurance". One can think how self defeated and dangerous this type of thinking is. They claim the great woman on the beast drunnk on the saints blood is the RCC. This is not true, the great woman is gonna be a city like babylon during the tribulation where many christians will be persecuted during the end times. This could be israel, the harlet could also be islam(we can agree that islam is 'drunk' on many of the saints aka. the crusades and todays middle east problems) which it seems what future events are pointing too, the point is WE DON"T KNOW until the time comes.

Just take a look today on TV on evangical programs and seminars. Everyone jumping around fanatically with their hands swinging in the air while the pastor pushes over people with his hand to the ground in jesus name. Can you honestly look at that and say "Did christ really want this?"..It is almost a mockery of our lord. The catholic church praises Christ in a respectful humble matter, through the holy eucharist and body of faith, traced back to the way the apostles.

In conslusion, prostestants need to recognize and respect the deep roots of the catholic church, they put together the pieces of christianity and have done so since the time of the apostles.

1 out of 5 stars I am not even chrisitan   June 18, 2004

I am not even a chrisitian but I enjoy studing christianity-as well as ALL religions in all aspects and I find that more often then not people who say they are "experts" know nothing and are blinded by their own faith.

Mr. Hunt is one of those people. He spills out hatred in pretty words and ignores truth. I would say don't read this book but if you do open your eyes. No book gives complete information and truth if it is written by someone with an agenda.

I have studied revelations with a completely open mind-as something interesting to read about and have found that all teh propaganda out there is wrong to a T. If there is a Woman who rides the beast it definatly isn't rome. Its much closer to home but it kindly ignored by people who don't want to look at themselves as workers of evil.

Anger, fear, hatred those are the works of evil. Those who speak with those words and preach such thoughts and feelings are workers of evil. Spread love not fear. Don't wait for the rapture-live your life the best you can. You don't make the decision. How selfish to want other people to suffer so you can go to your heaven.

And a lot of "rapture" and "enbd of times" theories are full of those things. Just like the Left Behind series this book is a prime example.

1 out of 5 stars I Will Pray   April 29, 2004

Those of you who found this book to be accurate, well-researched, and wonderful will have my prayers. When you say that you have Jesus' truth, what you really have is Satan himself deceiving you. Open up your minds! You are the ones that need to let go of your "traditions of men", not Catholics. Do you know how old your beliefs are? If you are a fundamentalist like Dave Hunt, they are about a hundred years old. Otherwise, they only date back to Luther's time. This is a fact of history. All of you who accept Hunt's book need instruction in history, as well as prayers. This novel is a joke, nothing more. I pity those of you who think differently.

1 out of 5 stars HUNT DOES NOT BELIEVE JESUS CHRIST   March 20, 2006

JESUS SAYS, "My sheep listen to my voice." (John 10:27).

DAVE HUNT DOES NOT LISTEN TO JESUS' VOICE.

EXAMPLE:

JESUS SAYS: "Everyone who looks to the Son and believes in Him shall have eternal life and I will raise him up at the last day." (John 6:40).

"At the last day" - not 7 or 1007 years before the last day as Hunt believes.

JESUS SAYS: "There is a judge for the one who rejects me and does not accept my words. That very word which I spoke will condemn him at the last day." (John 12:48)

Hunt needs to accept the very words of Jesus Christ when He says "at the last day."

JESUS SAYS: "The hour is coming when all who are in the graves will hear my voice and come out. Those who have done good will rise to live and those who have done evil will rise to be condemned." (John 5:28-29)

Hunt changes the words of Jesus Christ and tries to insert 1000 or 1007 years between Jesus' call and ignores the word "all". (See also John 11:24)

See 2 Peter 3:10-13 for a description of the last day. The rest of the Bible agrees with Jesus Christ not Dave Hunt.

So why listen to Dave Hunt in anything he writes when he can't understand the meaning of the words "at the last day" from the lips of Jesus Christ Himself?

HUNT DOES NOT BELIEVE JESUS CHRIST.
