5 out of 5 stars Read it today!   November 24, 2006

Especially in view of the recent poisoning and death of Alexander Litvinenko, this book is a must read. Mr. Putin is on a mission - and it is not to promote the democracy of Russia! Reading this book is like reading the daily headlines.

5 out of 5 stars Time For A Reality Check   February 12, 2007

I see that a number of reviewers have had a problem with Mr. Rosenberg's book being too literal in it's interpretation of the Bible. I suspect that these critics are some of those who do not study the Bible under the teaching ministry of the Holy Spirit. The book of First Corinthians, Chapter 2, verses 9 - 16 identifies the problem those not led by the Holy Spirit have with understanding the Bible.

If one examines the way prophecy was fulfilled during the First Advent of The Lord Jesus Christ; one will find a careful, literal fulfillment of the Old Testament prophecies. It is reasonable to assume that the events surrounding the Rapture of the Church, and the Second Advent will be similarly fulfilled.

Historically, critics have had a field day with the Book of Revelation, because the things described were generally beyond the imagination of the reader. It is only within the last few years, that our technology has finally started to catch up with the Book of Revelation. In the past, the skeptic may have asked, "how can it be that men from every people, tribe, language, and nation could see the two witnesses in Revelation 11?" In the past it would not have been possible for this to occur in three and one half days. Today, however, television broadcasts show us events all over the globe as they happen, and we take all of it for granted.

Another prophecy that has recently become understandable is in Revelation 13: 16-17. When Revelation was written, the very idea of controlling who could buy or sell over the entire world was inconceivable. Today, with modern technology, most especially RFID chips, this is very possible. It is not hard at all to see how one's ability to buy or sell could be electronically controlled. When the Rapture takes place, there will be a lot of credit cards laying around without any owners. This alone could cause all sorts of economic disruption. It becomes very easy to see how RFID chips could be viewed as a possible solution to the problem.

Not too many decades past, the notion of an Israel coming into being, and even speaking Hebrew as the national language was considered too unlikely to even deserve serious consideration. Today we see the nation restored, and as prophesied, under attack. We see nations forming alliances as predicted in Ezekiel, Daniel, and Revelation; we see the increasing apostasy in the church and in the world, as predicted in the Bible. All of the evidence is pointing to the approach of the End Times as described in the Bible

Mr. Rosenberg, on page 236, concludes with a list of "practical suggestions". It is eternally vital to each individual that they have followed this list. To fail to do so will be deadly.

5 out of 5 stars An eye opener   July 10, 2007

I heard about this book through Fox News interviews and on Christian radio so I admit that I read it through the "third lens" from the get go. I must say that having read other end times books, I have yet to find one so careful to be objective and clear on opinions. As a believer, I must admit that considering Mr. Rosenberg's theories gave me great comfort in understanding our very complex and scary world. I did not find it hyped to send me over the edge. It was easy to go back and forth between the pages and my Bible to form my own opinion after reading the author's. I recommend this to all and not just Christians or Messianic Jews. I have and will always be a supporter of Israel NO MATTER WHAT since I believe I am required by my beliefs to do so. I challenge those that are non-believers to explain this small country's success and survival for generations if not loved by God.

I really enjoyed this book. I believe the author has keen insight to Bible scripture and current world events. I have no difficulty envisioning events unfolding as described in the book. It seems as if Joel Rosenberg has the ability to reveal the meaning of scriptural passages accurately. I think the book is a must read for everyone.

5 out of 5 stars Eye-Opening Information   December 10, 2006

I've read all four of Joel Rosenberg's bestselling novels--and loved them. In EPICENTER, Rosenberg moves into the nonfiction area with his well-crafted prose. He combines careful research on the Middle East along with personal interviews and insight.

He predicts ten future headlines which will startle readers of the regular news media and delight them with his insight into the future. It includes 20 pages of endnotes to document the sources for his information and a page-turning style of writing.

The news media uses the political insight combined with economic information. Rosenberg uses what he calls the "third lens" or information from the Bible (especially the prophet Ezekiel) to gain his insight into the future.

I highly recommend EPICENTER.
