I don't read many nonfiction books, but when I started to look at EPICENTER, then began reading it, I couldn't put it down, and finished it in 2 days! It was excellent, very fascinating reading about the world we live in, and what the future may hold. I'm giving it as gifts to many friends and family.

5 out of 5 stars A view to the future   May 15, 2007

Joel C. Rosenberg has amazed and frightened reviewers, reporters and political insiders with his prescient insights into future events. He predicted terrorist use of jet liners as bombs flown into buildings, the death of Arafat, the rise of Iran as a nuclear power and much more. In "Epicenter", Rosenberg reveals his sources. Included are the expected -- experts and insiders and, for some, the unexpected -- the Bible, specifically the book of Ezekiel. Mr. Rosenberg cites chapeter and verse, combined with current events, to present compelling arguments to support the ten future headlines he uses as chapter titles. I'm sharing this book with my immediate circle of friends and buying copies for friends and family. You'll do the same.

5 out of 5 stars Excellent overview of Middle East scenerio   July 30, 2007

I read Joel Rosenberg's "Epicenter" and was blown away! I am usually very weary of "end-times' books, but Mr Rosenberg's book was right on the mark. From his knowledge in Bible Prophecy, his Jewish background, research in Israel, faith in Jesus as Messiah, and resume of working for Rush Limbaugh and Natan Shorasky, Joel Rosenberg brings in all into a melting pot of drama and suspence to keep the reader at the edge of his seat! I would recommend this book to anybody who loves the Bible prophecy and the return of Jesus our Messiah!

5 out of 5 stars Fascinating, Clearly Written, and Important Information for Jews, Christians, and Moslems   September 4, 2007

I first became aware of Joel C. Rosenberg when I read his third novel, "The Ezekiel Option." In what I consider the best of his four "end-times" novels, he clearly and persuasively presents a plausible dramatization of the prophecies of Ezekiel coming true. Simply put, the prophet, writing 2,500 years ago, foresaw an attack upon the nation of Israel by Russia, Iran, and several allied countries. For the first time in human history, the prerequisites for such an event are starting to line up, and the "War of Gog and Magog" as Rosenberg calls it, seems ever more possible and even capable of happening in our own lifetimes.

In "Epicenter," Rosenberg's first non-fiction book, the author describes these prophecies and what biblical scholars have been able to surmise about them up to this point in history. Russia and Persia (Iran) have never been politically or militarily allied, but now Russia is selling arms to Iran and aiding them in their quest to become a nuclear power. Based on a careful analysis of Ezekiel, Rosenberg goes on to describe ten "future headlines" that we should anticipate and be watchful for. One of the most intriguing "headlines" is that Iraq, in spite of its present unrest and discouraging situation, will experience a period of peace and stability prior to the devastating attack on Israel. Another is that in the "last days" there will be record numbers of Moslems becoming disillusioned with their faith and turning to Christianity instead. Rosenberg uses documented statistics to show that since September 11, 2001, followers of Islam have been turning to Jesus Christ in a big way, even in countries where it is a dangerous thing to question, much less abandon, the Islamic religion.

I believe we are living in an age where it is more important than ever for Christians and Jews to familiarize themselves with the the prophecies recorded in the Bible. Approximately 40% of the Holy Scriptures are prophetic, and about half of them are said to have already come to pass. We need to be able, says Rosenberg, to view current events not just in terms of political or economic reasoning, but through what he calls "the third lens of scripture."

I feel I have learned a lot from this one book, which is not the first book on prophecy I've studied. I am not a person who is inclined to agree 100% with what any given writer has to say on the subject, but Joel C. Rosenberg has deeply impressed me as someone who really knows his stuff. Fans of Rosenberg's novels will enjoy learning more about his own family history and his personal transition from secular Jew to Messianic Jew and evangelical Christian. Rosenberg's fifth novel, "Dead Heat" is due to be released in March of 2008.

5 out of 5 stars Joel Rosenberg Hits Another Home Run . . . amazingly prescient book   September 7, 2007

Want a front row seat on the middle east? Want a quick start guide to what is happening there, not only for today but in the near future?

Joel Rosenbergs books offer this to the readers. I especially enjoyed the audio version of the book and his reading of it was both professional and empathetic at the same time. With empathy for those most involved and suffering, he tells their story with feeling and grace. Joel knows this subject inside and out, and personally knows most of the key players both past and current at the top of the governments and groups involved in the struggle over the tiny piece of real estate known as Israel.

Whether of not you share his viewpoints and personal beliefs, no one can argue that the "novels" that he has written have been off the mark in their conclusions or outcomes. You will be informed and entertained (as much as current events can entertain) by what he writes. WAS THERE ANYONE ELSE who foretold the 9/11 sequence of events in a novel or otherwise??

Joel Rosenberg did in "The Last Jihad" . . . and has gone on from there . . .
