Good, Solid Teaching January 7, 2010 Josh (Louisville, KY) Very good foundational teaching on moving in the prophetic. Every Christian should read this book even if just to understand what is happening to others as they move in prophetic annointings. To quote the author.. "That's a good word right there."
Great prophetic workbook!! January 11, 2010 Gabrielle Born This workbook has helped me out so much!! There are so many questions when it comes to prophetic ministry, but this workbook has answered many of mine!
Good Training Manual April 8, 2008 Thatfeller 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
This book can be used, page-for-page, to train people in basic prophetic ministry. It takes the position that the prophetic is not strictly for a few elite and specially gifted people, but that any believer can learn to exercise the gift for profitably (pun intended; sorry!).
But the book is perhaps more useful as a guide, a resource, for prophetically gifted individuals to train others prophetically: it works well to use this book as an outline for discussion, as a reference book for unusual questions, and as a comfort that others have encountered these challenges and overcome them.
Mr. Vallotton is not afraid to look at unusual spiritual and prophetic experiences and learn from them, and his questions for discussion are both thought-provoking and practical.
Get the book and use it.
Prophetic July 23, 2007 Dottie Miley (Pennyslvania) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This book talks about the purpose of the gift of prophecy, which is to encourage the church and bring out the best in people.
Prophecy in its simplest form is merely hearing from the Holy Spirit and repeating what He said.
When we are given a prophetic word, we must judge the word to make sure it is from God. Sometimes when we receive a prophetic word, we don't realize what it means until after it has been fulfilled.
basic training February 9, 2008 Julia Hoard (northern michigan) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
GREAT basic manual for learning prophetic ministry. Only wish two things were added: 1) the levels/functioning of the prophet. John Sanford talks about 12 of these. 2) On the chapter regarding etiquette, some basics such as remember to use breath mints, watch your dress (no low cut necks for women), etc... Otherwise a fabulous book!
