Life Application Study Bible NIV

This Bible is packed with footnotes, charts and other references that shed so much light on the scriptures. Each chapter includes a summary of what it is about, who wrote it, to whom it was written, when it was written and other great information. It also includes timelines to give you an idea of what was going on elsewhere in the world when different Biblical events were taking place. One of the things I really enjoy of this Bible is that it points out discrepancies between the original manuscripts and where there is uncertainty about the original meaning of some passages, the Life Application Study Bible notes them with the most likely and other possible meanings.

As a new Christian, I fumbled around with all kinds of different translations, formats, etc. At first, I ended up with a parallel bible. While I would recommend a parallel bible to experienced Christians, I would not recommend it to new Christians. After sitting in a bookstore for hours looking through all of the formats and translations, I decided that this one was definitely it. The NIV translation is accurate and easy to read while the study portion of this bible has been an incredible help to me.

I received this book as a 50th birthday present. It was the best present I have received by far! This is a wonderful Study Bible. The introductions to each book are excellent, the individual profiles are enlightening, the notes to the text are well written and applicational to daily christian living, it is packed with interesting facts which are so helpful. The necessity of trusting in Jesus for salvation and living for him is emphasised at every opportunity. All in all, an excellent book for personal study and in the preparation of sermons. I would heartily recommend it to you.

Fabulous correlation to other Books supporting the statements being explained. Attention to the details in explaining the things most people would not know of. There is no need to keep looking for another one because this one is it - the Inspired Word of God we can all understand.

We have an extremely learned and gifted minister at our bible study and, while he covers so much more than is presented in most versions of the bible, this NIS version provides additional background that helps my wife and I understand the lessons so much better. So much so that I've had to order her one now.
