I received my Kindle DX one week ago and the first thing I wanted to download was the NIV Bible. I had read all of the reviews and decided that it was indeed good. Well, it says it is not available yet. Now my question is 'how can people have it and review it if it is now available'? Just found this interesting!

Bad Reviews, No Sale Here December 25, 2009 G. Norwood 2 out of 11 found this review helpful
I read all the reviews about the user UN-friendliness of the Kindle NIV version. Since it is the most popular translation in the world, I would think that this Kindle product would be stellar. Since other buyers have reported you have no idea what book or chapter you are in, and how many clicks it takes to get you to selecting a verse, I will not buy this, and the Bible is the main reason I wanted a Kindle! What's the point of buying the Bible to make you feel better, when trying to navigate it only makes you feel worse? If the most-popular NIV is this bad off, what must I conclude about all the other Kindle Bible translations? Please let me know when all these inadequacies are corrected, and we are able to easily know what book and chapter we are reading. I will order one immediately! thank you.
Fiction February 14, 2010 Christopher Marcille (Seoul) 3 out of 16 found this review helpful
The morality in this book is disgusting: slavery, selling of daughters, being stoned for working the sabbath, etc. I am happy that our society has evolved past this. We still have a ways to go, but looking toward this book for answers is looking in the wrong direction.
Best Work of Fiction Ever-Makes Twilight Look Like Shakespeare! February 20, 2009 Awesomepants MgGee (Midwestopia) 60 out of 171 found this review helpful
The entire story could have been effectively told in ten pages, yet this collection of authors prattles on at excruciating length about trivial information such as the bloodlines of even the most superfluous characters.
The story itself doesn't make any sense. I mean, why would a being who is all-powerful, who could fix any problem by snapping his fingers, choose such a stupid solution as sending an innocent to die a slow, painful death? I couldn't really associate with any of the characters, and the morals of the story were most wretched. Goldilocks provides an infinitely more ethical lesson and uses about a thousand less trees for paper.
To say that the whole book is poorly written would be the greatest understatement in the history of understatement. I mean, I couldn't even tell if the God character was the antagonist or the protagonist. Avoid this book. There's a reason they're trying to give it away. Do yourself, and literature on the whole a favor, and throw it in the trash.
