Product Description
On September 17, 2005, the newly elected President of Iran, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad addressed the United Nations National Assembly in New York City. American President George W. Bush sat in attendance. Concluding his speech, Ahmadinejad made a plea to Allah to speedily bring forth the emergence of the mysterious Islamic Messiah figure known as Imam Al-Mahdi. This book examines in detail who Imam Al-Mahdi is according to Islamic belief. An essential study to better understand the religious dimension behind the threat that is represented in Ahmadinejad. A fascinating study and comparison of the end-time beliefs of the World’s two largest religions. Through this groundbreaking examination of both Islamic and biblical prophecy, a frightening picture of a very possible future emerges. A must read for anyone who wishes to better understand Islam, Bible prophecy or the spiritual factors and the underlying forces driving the present early stages of what may indeed be the final clash of ideologies and civilizations.

"A fascinating and provocative work. Joel has definitely expanded the frontiers in the ongoing exploration of the relationship between Islam and the rest of the world. A must read for priests and pastors, students and lay readers everywhere. Bravo!"
-Robert Spencer, Author of Islam Unveiled and The Politically Inncorrect Guide to Islam, Director of Jihad Watch.com

"In an era and an age where ambiguity reigns, Joel Richardson has written a book that is clear, well researched, and to the point. Few people in the Christian community have the courage to study world religions, much less invest themselves in it as he has done. Do yourself a favor; get this book, read this book, live out the truths that you pull out of it. It is worth your time, and more importantly, souls hang in the balance."
-Dr. Ergun Caner, Dean, Liberty Theological Seminary, Liberty University, Lynchburg, VA

"This book definitely provides a fresh look at Bible Prophecy in light of current affairs with the global rise of Islamic Fundamentalism. Not only does Joel accurately analyze Islamic doctrines and practices, but his interpretation of biblical prophecy is also solid - soundly adhering to the accepted rules of hermeneutics."
-Walid Shoebat, Former Palestinian Terrorist, Author of Why I Left Jihad.

"Joel Richardson presents a fascinating overview of how biblical and Islamic viewpoints on eschatology overlap, making a convincing case that reading this book and studying what the Old and New Testaments have to say about the "end times" is imperative for Christians today. This book is a wake-up call for Christians to learn how the future of the church, the future of Islam and the future of the entire world are divinely and directly interconnected."
-Dr. Tom White, Executive Director, The Voice of the Martyrs

2 out of 5 stars obviously prejudiced, but follows through on his thoughts...   December 28, 2009

I would simply like to point out that when reading this book, one must have an unquestioned forced 'belief' in some assumptions prior. One must take for fact the idea that Trinitarian Christianity has always been the historically accurate version of Christianity, whereas for hundreds of years, the official stance of the Church was that Jesus was simply the honorable prophet/messenger to the Children of Israel. Actually, the belief of the apostles was this as well, especially Barnabus, Jesus' closest apostle who parted ways with Paul when Paul decided to preach doctrines to the 'gentiles' that were contrary to what Jesus taught the apostles. You have to have the unquestioned belief that the "Jews" of today are the 'chosen people' of God through history, despite the fact that according to the scripture, the "Jews" were banished from "the holy land" due to their own transgressions, and continue to be in that state. This is not to mention that the present day Palestinians are actually Semitic people, being truly descending from Abraham, whereas the present day rulers of Israel are not historically children of Israel, and thus not even 'children of Israel'. In present day Israel, the true Children of Israel are treated like 2nd class folk, if the Palestinians (Muslims and Christians alike) are the 3rd class folk. Check the Khazar correspondences and present day geneologies. Arthur Koestler's "The Thriteenth Tribe" makes an adequate presentation of these considerations.

Overall, the agenda of the book forces the author to make gross generalizations that render the points made somewhat simplistic and easy swallowing for people who generally do not read anything outside of what 'agrees' with what they have read before. This book is for a primed audience, not a critically thinking one.

Finally, I just wanted to include a brief explanation of something the author confuses in the book. The author would have us believe that Jews have been hated by Muslims thoughout history and the present day Israeli-Palestinian issue is a manifestation of this, to be sorted out ultimately in the struggle between the Anti-Christ and the true Son of Mary. To help clarify, I point out that throughout the times, Jews sought the protection of the Muslim state when being persecuted by their CHRISTIAN tormentors. When Jews fled the inquisition, where did they turn and find comfort and safety? Actually, one of the highest viziers of the Muslim Andalucian government was a Jew, Hasdi ibn Shaprut, who found the Khazar jews and who sought and made correspondence with them, on behalf of the Muslim government! Additionally, the true "Children of Israel" Jews in Palestine and the Palestinians lived peacefully in the holy land for quite a while until people started being shuttled in to the land that had never been there by a present day political philosophy which demanded the holy land at the cost of killing or 'cleansing' the indigenous population, surprisingly overtly admitted by the organizers and initiators of the Israeli state. The fact is that the Prophet Muhammad established that one who commits injustice upon a jew would be at odds with the prophet. Simply because the circumstances of the end times are related by prophesy does not necessitate we try to live that out. Our closeness to God requires that we ADHERE TO THE GUIDANCE of the prophets in the most trying of times.

And to conclude, the Oneness of God was not a novel concept 'invented' by Muslims. It is the first commandment. It is the main excuse the Jewish hierarchy brought forth against Jesus, that he was claiming divinity, whereas according to his own statements, he never did. The fact that at the Council of Nicaea, in 325, when Constantine approved the officially accepted gospels, even in these writings, we are hard pressed to find any claim by Jesus claiming divinity, that people should worship him, or that he was somehow part of a trinity. Not even Paul invented that word. This word was created around the Nicaean Council. Were the apostles of Christ false and not saved because they did not see Jesus as their redeemer in terms of dying for their sins and being God Himself, or part of some trinitarian concept? It was in Constantine's favor, according to ruling his empire efficiently, to have trinitarian christianity to be the 'officially sanctioned' version, since the teachings were very similar to the pagan concepts of trinity (Nimrod-Semiramis-and the holy son, Tamuz) which existed long before Paul even came along. It is interesting actually, that Constantine died a Unitarian Christian in his elder years, along with his sister who was always a very pious and astute advisor in his life. Some of the greatest Christians in history have been those who thought Jesus was a messenger/prophet, and NOT God Himself or some lamb for some sacrifice.

But again, this book assumes that one does not delve into anything else and have the aforementioned assumptions as unquestioned. My opinion, as a former blind and uncritical follower of modern Christianity, is to read the Qur'an yourself and meet Muslims to guage where these people are in terms of goodness in their hearts, their morals, their ethics, their closeness with God, why they do what they do, instead of forming opinions based on third parties with agendas.

1 out of 5 stars The author picks and chooses which facts to emphasize in his book: A Quick Refutation   August 2, 2009

Although this book may seem solid at a first glance, one may notice many inconsistencies and problems in the book as a whole on a later reflection. It becomes quite apparent that the author picks and chooses which facts to emphasize to draw any sort of illogical connection he wants to. In order to support his preconceived notion that Islam and Christianity are completely at odds, he neglects the contradictions within his own work.

In the chapter comparing the Muslim Jesus with the False Prophet, the author clearly states from the biblical account that the False Prophet will order people to worship him and will create an idol which he will cause to speak to support his divinity. However, he goes on to completely ignore this important tidbit for the rest of the chapter.

In fact, the Christian False Prophet is more consistent with the Dajjal based on this neglected information. The Dajjal, according to the author's stated ahadith, will be an infidel who will order the people to worship him, and will animate the dead. The Muslim Jesus is far from this, as he will order people to worship God, not himself, and will fight those who attribute partners to God. The author, however, completely forgoes accounting for this inconsistency within his own writing.

His entire allegation focuses solely on the absurd idea that the Muslim Jesus will hate and fight the Jews and the Christians, while the Christian Jesus (the author believes him to be Dajjal) would defend the Christians and Jews. Firstly, the Muslim Jesus will not hate the Jews and Christians; he will only be angry at their misconstruing his original message (this misconstruing can easily be demonstrated due to the fact that belief in the Trinity did not arise until approximately 400 years after Jesus).

Secondly, this argument is very emotional and cannot easily be reconciled (thus it should be avoided), as it presupposes that there are two Jesuses fighting against each other, each representing another religion. But if Islam and Christianity are supporting the same perception of Jesus, then there is no conflict. Ultimately, this argument is deeper than it looks; a person would need to delve into the Bible to draw 100 percent scriptural support for the divinity of Christ, and then he could suppose such an argument. I would demonstrate some verses to the contrary of this divinity hypothesis, but I think a mere reference to another book should suffice (Jesus: God or the Son of God? by Brian Holt).

Several other problems in this book can be demonstrated, but I don't think this needs to be done. It is quite obvious overall, as can be inferred from this short example, that the author picks and chooses his arguments, thus leaving holes in his overall conclusions. For this reason, I think that the author needs to think about the issue objectively, and not try to start a religion-war based on faulty premises.

5 out of 5 stars Very enlightening   July 29, 2009

I have studied biblical eschatology for years. Never in my life have I heard or read of one single hypothesis, backed by scripture, that fulfills all of biblical prophecy (both old & new testament)...until now.

If indeed we are living in the end-times, then "this generation" will no doubt see the rise of the AntiChrist and False Prophet come to fruition through the perverted doctrine of Islam. There is no "radical Islam" vs. peaceful Islam; the heart of the religion is based on spreading Islam by the sword, making war upon all "infidels" who refuse to convert (jihad). Islamists await the reurn of the Mahdi (AntiChrist) and the false prophet (Muslim Jesus), who will destroy Israel and convert or destroy all "non-believers". Those who deny this are either ignorant of the true faith of Islam or are promoting a sinister agenda via deception, as is called for and approved of in Islam's own dogma and literature.

Joel does a fabulous job in revealing the eerie antithetical eschatology of Islam as compared to Christianity. This is an enlightening read for any who wish to understand and prepare for the upcoming tribulation.

5 out of 5 stars Urgent Message to All Readers   July 29, 2009

We are living in the time that we are witnessing many Biblical prophecies fulfilling in front of our very own eyes. I have not read this book; however, I read the book "God's War on Terror" by Joel Richardson and Walid Shoebat. The subjects that they wrote about "Islam, Prophecy and the Bible" are very different from the usual knowledge that we know. It seemed as though most of the prophecy experts are heading to one direction and singing the same chorus over and over, but Mr. Richardson and Mr. Shoebat are pointing us to another direction which is very troublesome - the sight of the rising Islamic Empire. This direction is not Unbiblical, but in fact, it is the Unsealing of the prophecy that was sealed up at the time of Daniel and John. I hope and pray that by focusing on the end-time prophecy regarding the rising of Islamic Empire, it will bring the revival of Christianity in the Western world.

Jesus said, "And behold, I am coming quickly. Blessed is he who heeds the words of the prophecy of this book." (Revelation 22:7).

Here is the link to my comment on the book "God's War on Terror."

5 out of 5 stars The Most Persuasive Book I've Read on Eschatology   July 11, 2009
Liam Roberts

I would have posted a comment much earlier, but I wanted to study all of the 92 comments that precede this one so as to not be redundant. I wholeheartedly agree with all of the 5 star comments and confess that I offered a few rebuttals to the 1 star commentators...

I have researched much about Islam in the past few years and thought I had a grasp on what inspires and energizes Muslims who think so differently from Evangelical Christians.

My purpose has been to infuse into my own writing an admonition to fellow Christians to not shirk their responsibility to reach out to Muslims. I am convinced our reluctance is due to cultural and philisophical differences that are intimidating.

I have chosen fiction as the vehicle to accomplish my goal. Admittedly, it was an easy choice to cast jihadists as my antagonists. My early research was thus focused on reinforcing pat anti-Muslim notions cemented in the American psyche on 9-11.

I constructed an underlying theme, strictly to enhance the sinister nature of jihadists. I thought it would be an interesting twist to have the AntiChrist come from the eastern end of the Roman empire, not the western end as most eschatologists assume. It made more sense to me for a variety of reasons, the least of which is that the bureaucracy to be set up by the AntiChrist will include a religious arm. Islam fits that bill perfectly.

I did not intend to support this notion with theological precision, but wanted to rely on creative license to convey a compelling story.

I had became a follower of Jesus the year before the bestselling book, "The Late Great Planet Earth" was released. Like many fervent believers, I devoured the book and many like it over the years, from authors ranging from John Walvoord and Tim LaHaye to Jack Van Impe and Pat Robertson.

Because I would be presenting a concept so at odds with their teaching, I did examine the scriptures thoroughly to assure myself that I would not pervert any clear doctrine in the process.

Then I stumbled upon Joel Richardson's book and was amazed that someone had laid out a justification for what I had assumed was creative license. I read Joel's book and was amazed at my own shallow grasp of the issues. His research was scholarly, his logic compelling and his delivery impeccable.

Joel's book surprised and admonished me in a way that I had not expected. His humble compassion for Muslims was clearly laid out in the closing chapters. His comments helped temper my tendency to polarize Muslims in a political fashion and admonished me to see them instead through spiritual eyes.

I began correspondence with Joel many months ago, which culminated in having him come to my area recently to lead a conference entitled "Lifting the Veil; Revealing Truth about Radical Islam([...])." Joel stayed in my home during the conference, which gave me an incredible opportunity to plumb the depths of his knowledge and spiritual maturity.

I can state with great confidence that Joel has a grasp on the subtleties of Islam and the Muslim mindset. This is also attested to by prominent Muslims. I recommend that you review his website ([...])for a recent interview held in Istanbul with Adnan Oktar, a highly-respected Muslim writer and opinion leader.

I am overjoyed that Joel's book is being re-released next week as a hard-cover edition entitled The Islamic Antichrist: The Shocking Truth about the Real Nature of the Beast. Joel gratefully acknowledges the assistance of a professional editor for this release, which should satisfy the few detractors below that are too distracted with typesetting errors to appreciate quality research.

I give this book my highest endorsement.
