Product Description
The Remarkable Truth about the Agents of Heaven

People have long been fascinated by stories of angel sightings, yet many contemporary beliefs about angels are based on misconception and myth rather than solide, biblical truth.
As he's done so brilliantly for decades, respected Bible teacher Dr. David Jeremiah uses Scripture to unveil the remarkable truth about these agents of heaven and their role in our world and our lives.
What are angels? What is their role in God's plan? Are they present? Do they appear? Do they give us personal insight about our work and our worship?
In this broad and thorough survey of Scripture, Dr. Jeremiah clearly and simply separates fact from fiction as it relates to angels. His enlightening findings are supported with illustrations and insights from prominent teachers, such as Billy Graham, Corrie ten Boom, C. S. Lewis, and more.
Dr. Jeremiah's down-to-earth style guides readers around the hype about angels and directly into the "substance of things unseen!"

5 out of 5 stars Great Read   December 20, 2008

This was a great book. I love D. Jeremiah's writing. I watch him on TV nd hear him on the radio also. He writes like he talks- straight and easy to understand. He shared a lot of new and thought provoking ideas about angels. Enjoy!

5 out of 5 stars Great book on angels   January 12, 2010
Mark A. Buzard (Lisbon, Ohio)
If you're wanting to read a good book about angels, this is it. David Jeremiah tackles the issue in an informative and interesting way. He explores the different actions of angels in the Bible - destruction/warriors, protect, deliver, messengers, and also discusses the proper way to view angels. He talks about the modern day "angel mania" and compares the view of people nowadays of angels, to the Biblical view of angels.

Though not a fiction book, I read through it fairly fast, and came away with a better knowledge of angels - their actions and role in the Bible, future, and present day. I have read books, articles, etc. about angels, and this book is the best I have read on this topic. I feel the author came off with a completely biblical explanation and view of angels. Get the book.

5 out of 5 stars All you need to know about Angels   January 20, 2010
Michael R. Deutsch (Indiana)
When I saw that I had an opportunity to review one of David Jeremiah's books, I was excited, and when I read the title of the book, I was doubly excited. David is a wonderful scholar who writes in plain English, enabling all people to understand his points.

I was not disappointed in reading this book about Angels. David provides the reader with a very thorough study of what angels are and what they are not. He is quick to point out that angels never deserve our worship, that is reserved only for God. Yet, he spells out the positive and negative (satan) side of angels.

Angelology, or the study of angels has become very popular in our current pop culture. Angels are misrepresented and misunderstood according to who and what they are. Because of this and current television programs and pop books, David gives the Christian reader and excellent book.

At times the book moved a little slowly as he trued to make his point, but overall this is an excellent book. I could give so many examples of new learnings or new ways to look at angels because they are Biblical examples. A word of caution -- you may be disappointed in this book because David will break some of our worldly stereotypes of what we think angels are, as opposed to who they really are according to the Bible.

5 out of 5 stars Definitive Source on the Topic of Angels   January 30, 2010
Connie Y. Mishali
Angels by Dr. David Jeremiah is very complete on the subject of angels and extremely well grounded in scriptures. If you want to become an authority on the topic of angels -- what the Bible says, their role, their characteristics, what they are NOT despite public thought -- then this is the book for you. I found this book more "textbook" than engaging, but it's hard to be scholarly and definitive AND entertaining at the same time. That's not to say it's a hard book to read; in fact, it flows easily. If you're really interested in what the Bible says about angels, Angels by Dr. David Jeremiah is a must have book.

5 out of 5 stars Enlightening   January 31, 2010
S. White (New England)
When we think of angels, most of us think in terms of a cute cherub on Valentine's Day. Or maybe we imagine a white- robed -being with wings who sits peacefully in the clouds watching over us. This is not reality. I have to tell you, I was amazed as I read Dr. David Jeremiah's new book, "Angels." He explains:

1. "Who they are".
2. "How they help".
3. "What the Bible reveals".
4. "The remarkable truth about the agents of heaven".

This book contains no fluff or speculation. It is full of precise and incisive facts. If a person was ever going to "hug" a book, this one would be it! It is that brilliant.

I was thrilled with his description of a guide taking us through Biblical accounts of the work of angels. Suddenly, they became very real and intense. I felt comforted, soothed and secure when I realized that these angels are the "hosts of heaven." They are warriors, who protect us in the spiritual realm. We are told that God commands all the forces of heaven and he is the "Lord of Hosts" ("Yahweh Seba'ot").

On pages 123, 151 and 152, you'll read a beautiful description of our prayers reaching God and witnessed by angels. It made me realize how precious and valuable our prayers are to God.

The overall purpose of the book is described on page 162, It "isn't just to teach us about angels, but rather to help us learn through angels what we can about God himself."

Dr. Jeremiah is a knowledgeable Pastor who shares enlightening truth. He backs up everything he says with Scripture. I had to keep running to my Bible because I was in awe and wanted to see for myself what he was talking about.
The book is easy to understand and in simple straightforward language.
