5 out of 5 stars Eschatological Excellence....Once Again   February 22, 2007

When David penned his previous work, Appointed, he so eloquently demonstrated an eschatological and exegetical standard that has not been seen for at least a century and unequaled today while, at the same time, serving notice to our modern/mainstream prophetic personalities that although they may be sincere, they can only, to themselves, read the words "Mene, Mene, Tekel, Upharsin." And, in reference to his most recent project, The Assyrian, the handwriting on the wall reads the same.

He stays true to his personal formula of (1) expecting his readers to be diligent and well-versed in such prophetic texts as Daniel, Isaiah, and the Apocalypse, (2) allowing the Text to both speak for and defend itself thereby relegating cliches and tradition to the responsiblity of the lazy and impressionable "babe" in Christ, and (3) has a desire to entertain no one and to please only One! As a PhD student in Biblical Theology, enormous amounts of reading and research have become a perpetual task. With that, I have yet to encounter such an individual eschatological writer as gifted as David. In a prior review of Appointed, I held the writing as ground-breaking and this second writing only serves as confirmation of my personal stance.

We live in a day and time when (as long as I can remember)that the Middle East has never been so unstable. The PLO and Palestine itself as been a wreck, Ariel Sharon demise, a lunatic Iranian leader, and no viable leader in Iraq. With all of this, its about time the world began to finally accurately identify the "Who's Who" in the "Land of Controversy." Brother David makes the excellent and most accurate case.

5 out of 5 stars One of the best books out there on the AntiChrist   October 20, 2007

As a bible student and a bible teacher, I have not seen a book that was more thorough and precise on the topic of the coming AntiChrist than this book by David Winston Busch!

His grasp of the scriptures, especially the one's dealing with God's Prophetic program with the Nation of Israel, the events surrounding those end times, and the coming of the Antichrist, are second to none.

I would recommend, and have recommended this book to anyone who would be willing to learn more about the "Assyrian" and will read it with an open mind and an open bible.

May the Lord Jesus Christ continue to use this brother to "make all men see" the marvels of His Word rightly divided!

5 out of 5 stars Correct, Accurate, and Fully Educational   December 31, 2008

I first heard an audio file by David W. Busch on Daniel's 70weeks prophecy and from that teaching I came to Amazon and purchased all three of David's books.

The Assyrian, is by far the most comprehensive book besides the BOOK - that I've ever read on eschatology.

David builds the Doctrine regarding the Assyrian upon what God builds the Doctrine regarding the Assyrian. Each Chapter adding more and more insight into the final Beast that we read about in God's Word of Truth.

I believe that David, unlike other authors has captured the essence of Bible prophecy and makes it easy for the reader to understand and David holds the readers interest for sure.

The Mark Twain reviewer obviously took a stab at promoting his own little mini thoughts on the end times that I'm sure any serious student of God's Word will dismiss as complete nonsense.

Bravo David Winston Busch. And may the Lord continue to Grace your pen as you bring forth other books from a rightly divided approach.

5 out of 5 stars "Assyrian" exalts God's word, rightly divided   December 31, 2008

David Busch's book, "The Assyrian: Satan, His Christ & the Return of the Shadow of Degrees," is a thorough examination of the many prophecies relating to the coming antichrist, especially those found in the "Old Testament". Selected Scriptures are printed out in the text of the book, making it easy for the reader who may not have his KJV at hand. The large print is easy on the eyes.

While the identity of the antichrist is the main focus of the work, it is worked out within the context of the right division of the word commanded by Paul, our apostle, in his 2nd epistle to Timothy, v. 15: "Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth." Understanding the things that belonged (and will belong) to God's chosen nation Israel and how they differ from the things that belong to us, the Body of Christ, brings the Scriptures into a sharper focus and allows a more literal reading, which David Busch demonstrates. With the sharp sword of God's word, he cuts through all the hype and fancy of today's popular prophecy "scholars."

And yes, Virginia, he does manage to zero in on a possible candidate from the Old Testament historical record who could very well be used by God in meting out Israel's final installment of their final course of curses set down in Leviticus 26 - the 70th week of Daniel. Who is it? Buy the book and find out! You won't be able to forget this book.

5 out of 5 stars Escatological Grand Slam   January 22, 2007

There is so much confusion and conjecture concerning Biblical end time events that one begins to be "tossed to and fro by every wind of doctrine." I truly believe Mr. Busch has put an end to that by using a writing technique that allows the Scriptures to speak and teach what God says and means. This takes a lot of patience and many hours devoted to being a good Berean and this effort shines forth in this book (THE ASSYRIAN, as well as in the first book in the series, APPOINTED). David has traced the doctrine of the Assyrian from beginning to end as it is presented by God in the Bible.

There are entire Christian ministries devoted to the topic of escatology, men have devoted their lives to the topic. Shame on these ministries and men if they do not recognize the importance of the doctrine of the Assyrian considering the huge number of Scriptures God has devoted to the topic. Until these ministries and men come to terms with this doctrine they will continue to be "tossed to and fro by every wind of doctrine" and the saints who follow them will not be edified. This book (THE ASSYRIAN) as well as APPOINTED should be in the libraries of every believer who takes an special interest in Biblical end time events. The material is for men and women who love their Bibles and desire to be edified and faithful to every detail of God's program with Israel. "Times and seasons" are of absolute importance in God's program with Israel but also for our (the "one new man") edification as well. GET THE BOOK(S)!!!

Oh, by the way, it is obvious to all that Mark Twain of Niles (the review "you got to be kidding") did not read the book. He only read the cover and back flap and maybe a few pages in between. He would be lying through his teeth if he says otherwise. It is his Assyrian blood that is boiling!
