5 out of 5 stars Awesome Bible Prophecy Tool   May 7, 2007

This commentary is a great tool to have in your library, especially if you study bible prophecy and end-time bible prophecy. I read my bible, then turn to Tim Lahaye's commentary for more insight. It clarifies what my NASB is saying and gives me more understanding into what was going on at the time. I highly recommend it for anyone interested in prophecy.

Lahaye and Hindson's work are detailed and deal with every Old and New Testament passage revelant to pretribulation understanding of the rapture and the revelation of Christ. This book is a worthwhile purchase for the prophecy student.

5 out of 5 stars A great commentary   March 15, 2010

Tim LaHaye and Ed Hindsom provide pastors and laypeople, in particular, a great single-volume commentary on Bible passages related to end times prophecy. For those who aren't looking for in-depth Hebrew and Greek exegesis or thorough treatments of opposing views, this book provides a great, general overview of prophetic passages that are easy to understand no matter one's level of education.

I am a pastor as well as a professor of Philosophy, World Religions, Cults, Islam, and American Christian History. I also author a website on Bible prophecy called The Omega Observer ([...]). I have found this book to be a useful tool in all my ministries. As long as a person isn't looking for interaction with the original languages of the Bible, I highly recommend this book.

4 out of 5 stars Great companion to the Bible   January 8, 2010

I am using the commentary with the Bible and the prophectic references are both helpful and insightful. It certainly does it's job of tying the Old Testament with the New Testament which enables the reader to see and understand the work of ABBA.

The Bible contains hundreds of prophecies, and not all of the related to eschatology. Thus, it is quite important to understand prophecy to be able to comprehend the Scriptures. From Genesis through Revelation, the authors take readers on a tour of both foretelling and forthtelling words. In the process, readers are given insights into ancient life and vocabulary that can be useful in understanding other parts of the Bible. It is worth noting that while there will be little contraversy regarding how Misters LaHaye and Hindson discuss prophecies not related to the end times, their views on that finale of human history are, not unexpectedly, Premil Dispensational. This may be problematic for Amill, Postmill, Preterist, and so on readers.
