As previously mentioned, the series comes on two disc; old and new testament. As the disc begins, you will see the holy bible in book form laying on an alter in a stain glassed church. The book opens and you pick which book from the bible you wish to read; next the page turns and you get to pick which chapter you wish to read or review. then that book you wish to read from opens and you follow along whith the narrator.In the "options" section in the book you may choose 1.play one book at a time 2. play in entire old testament. or 3. review the photos. (about 200)
Stephen Johnston is an excellent narrator but dont think this a a boring monolog. Additional voices are used when a charactor is mention; such as Moses or Abraham etc, plus sound effects such the sound of rain during the story of the great flood in Genesis, and troops marching around the walled city of Jerico. futher inhance the nuance of this series. I'm still in the old testement but had to express my pleasure with this reading of the bible.
this would make an excellent and thoughtful gift for someone who has difficulty reading or may be vision impaired.

Johnston's reading the scriptures as you read along is an excellent idea. There is a section of nice Bible pictures. There are pictures in the text that are entertaining, but I really appreciate the plain Bible reading.Johnston reads fast and well. The scripture passages are there on screen for you to read along or not. I really really enjoy these discs. I use them when I am tired at night and I can read longer and faster along with Johnston. Now even my husband doesn't mind joining me as we substitute a silly sitcom with the Word of God. A TRUE BLESSING. GREAT FOR TRIPS WITH A PORTABLE DVD PLAYER.

ASIDE FROM THE BIBLE IN PRINT THAT I HAVE, THE HOLY BIBLE (KJV) ON DVD IS THE MOST IMPORTANT CHRISTIAN FAITH RESOURCE I HAVE EVER OWNED. IT BRINGS THE WORD TO LIFE SO THAT YOU CAN HEAR AND READ IT OR JUST LISTEN TO IT WHILE YOU ARE SLEEPING OR WORKING AROUND THE HOUSE. EMMY-WINNING NARRATOR JOHNSTONE IS OUTSTANDING, AS IS THE BACKGROUND MUSIC, WHICH DROPS IN AND OUT ACCORDING TO THE MOOD OF THE TEXT. YOU CAN JUMP IN ON ANY CHAPTER OF ANY BOOK AND PAUSE ANYWHERE TO STUDY A PARTICULAR SCRIPTURE IN MORE DEPTH. I COULD GO ON AN ON... I SHOULD ALSO ADD THAT THIS RESOURCE IN INVALUABLE FOR PEOPLE WHO DON'T LIKE TO READ OR FALL ASLEEP AFTER A SHORT PERIOD OF READING.

The Holy Bible - Complete King James Version - Old & New Testament narrated by Stephen Johnston is an excellent way to study God's Word. There are many features on the DVD that allow you to learn Biblical truths. You can read along while the Scriptures are being narrated. This DVD is a great aid in learning to correctly pronounce some of the difficult names and words in the Old Testament. I highly recommend this DVD.

What a fantastic product....and the person who said the DVD Bible cannot be stopped, doesn't know where his pause button is! This DVD is truly blessed! Now you can have the whole Bible on only two DVDs...that's 72 hours of recording. Stephen Johnston is the best narrator of our century...no one else has brought his kind of love to the Scriptures...plus awarding winning actors, music and sound effects. This is a phenomenal production and perfect for Bible study alone or with your whole congregation...Can you get this kind of Bible for less anywhere else? I don't think so!!
